Sophrosyne Technologies, a Bengaluru-based semiconductor startup and part of the SFAL (Semiconductor Fabless Accelerator Lab) ecosystem, has raised $2 million in seed funding led by Bluehill.VC, following a $1.2 million grant from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the DLI scheme.
Founded by Manish Srivastava and Jatin Gupta, Sophrosyne Technologies is working at the intersection of semiconductor design and healthcare, developing high-accuracy biosensing system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for applications such as ECG, temperature monitoring, and other physiological signals.
From Prototype Silicon to Global Readiness
With this combined support from government programs such as DLI/C2S and private venture capital, Sophrosyne is now moving beyond prototype silicon toward large-scale product development and validation. The funding enables the startup to strengthen its design architecture, enhance testing and verification, and prepare its solutions for engagement with global OEMs.
Access to this capital also opens doors to world-class semiconductor architectures and design methodologies, allowing Sophrosyne to build robust, scalable SoCs that meet international performance, quality, and compliance standards.
Enabling the Future of Wearable Health Devices
Sophrosyne’s biosensing SoCs are poised to play a key role in the rapidly growing wearable health devices market, where accuracy, power efficiency, and reliability directly impact clinical relevance and user trust. By enabling precise real-time monitoring of vital parameters, the company’s technology has the potential to support early detection, continuous health tracking, and data-driven healthcare outcomes.
Strengthening the SFAL Startup Ecosystem
As an SFAL-supported startup, Sophrosyne Technologies’ progress highlights the impact of ecosystem-led acceleration, where policy support, technical mentorship, and industry partnerships come together to enable deep-tech innovation.
This milestone reinforces SFAL’s mission to support fabless semiconductor startups as they scale from innovation to market-ready solutions, driving indigenous technology development while building globally competitive semiconductor capabilities from India.
